Happy New Year

By George Huff

I am a few days late in getting this one up, but hey it was tough to get back on my blogging horse this time for some reason. I spent the last five days over at Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast. It’s such a beautiful place, the weather was good, and I got to disconnect for a few days. Every so often I am graced with reflection time. It felt good.

I have never been the kind of person to have New Year’s Resolutions, or at least nothing I admit to myself or admit openly. However, maybe that’s why some of my personal flaws keep hanging around. For some reason this year, I feel a bit more bold. In addition to my personal goals, what follows are a few of those things I would like to see in 2007.

Get Exercise - I’ve never been a gym rat. I’ve always preferred the screen to the lean. Wait, scratch that… I guess what I am trying to say is I have always preferred to spend my time on a computer rather than in a gym with a bunch of buff guys getting all buff. (-; This year, I am going to start doing cardio and try to maintain my perfect physical specimen.

The iPhone - It’s coming! No it’s not! It’s coming! No it’s not. I can’t take it anymore, I am so fed up with Verizon Wireless and their contracts, their overage charges, and their shitty website, I am ready to “switch” again. I can’t help but feel there more folks just like me.

Finishing - For some reason I am much better at starting things than finishing. I need to see all endeavors in my life all the way through. From my personal goals, such as exercising, to my professional goals - this is something I reflected on this weekend.

Grow A Vegetable Garden
- I live in a beautiful state, and great for growing vegetables. This year I hope to spend some time outdoors getting my vegetables shiny and edible.

Expand my Blog - I am in love with the web, but that’s not all. I feel I really need to treat this blog as my own journal, versus writing to the few folks who visit here. Of course, I will avoid religion and politics.

Care for the People That Care for Me - This is probably the most important. As any geek will tell you, it’s easy for us to get wrapped up in our own little worlds. Unfortunately, some people on the outside suffer. I will do my best this year to be aware of my effect on others.

Time Machine - Build a Time Machine

Those are my main ones. I have a few small personal goals brewing up in my head, but you have to keep somethings sacred. Remember that ladies.

Happy New Year.
